Green Worker Co-ops and Greenfeen Organix
invites volunteers and people of all ages for a day of
environmentally focused activities at Synergi Urban Garden 2.0.
This event is free! Bring yourself, a friend or loved one to join us in celebrating the work of co-ops and organizations in the Bronx.
Twenty years ago having access to clean and natural spaces for Bronxites was difficult or non-existent. This Earth Day is to honor the efforts of groups, residents, churches, schools, and YOU, that have brought the Bronx new life and a greener future.
The event will kick off a day of recreation and service. There will be activities for all ages:

a nature scavenger hunt,

eco-friendly demos led by our cooperatives (composting, DIY natural cleaning products, handmade jewelery from recycled materials, etc.)

co-operative olympics (team building activities)
-
and much more to be announced.
Do your part to ensure NYC Gardens stay beautiful and litter-free by volunteering for our clean-up. Volunteers will work on park clean up to improve the garden, and participate and assist in the activities for the day. (Students that need to fulfill a service requirement are welcome!)
Volunteer assignments will be distributed and explained during the 11:30am orientation. Please arrive early so as to ensure a timely start. Light refreshments will be served. Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes, as well as dress comfortably in clothes that can get dirty.
Volunteer Expectations:
1. Commitment to serve a shift of two hours (choose time between 12pm-4pm, orientation at 11:30am)
2. Commitment to work in the assigned function, with willingness to cooperate with all GWC and Green Feen staff and Synergi Urban Garden partner staff and volunteers
3. Commitment to perform assigned responsibilities as required
4. Willingness to work outside shine or rain and ability to handle gardening tools
Together we'll celebrate the day’s accomplishments and enjoy some refreshments.
