On Tuesday, July 25th Outreach coordinator, Tanya Fields did a workshop with 8th graders at Partnerhip for Children’s summer program at MS 296. It was a crash course in what cooperatives are and economic equality! Much to Tanya’s surprise the young people caught on quickly and exhibited such a passion for co-ops. They spent the last half an hour creating their own little co-ops and they good! They had a shoe store, a frozen yogurt shop and a green cleaning products company. In their presentations they were able to intelligently articulate the challenges and joys of running their cooperative. We’re impressed and excited about cultivating a new generation of future cooperative owners!
